what oil u fellas using ???

just topped up with some Castrol SLX 2 synthetic (0/w30?)as my engine was bone dry
not a fecking drop in it

thinking it will need more than the 1 litre i whacked in last nite

this is pretty expensive oil the synthetic stuff (app.esp for VAG engines with AVS service intervals)
40 quid for 3.5 litres

this what u all using ????

Mobil 1,
It is expensive but not as much as an engine rebuild!

I use Mobil 1 also.

Its cheaper than Castol SLX at my local halfords and its VW503.01 approved for my AVS Servicing!

I didn't think it was that expensive?

I'm using fully synthetic VAG Synta Gold - about £23 for 5 litres from GSF. It gets changed every 5000 miles as I'm not following the variable service routine as I don't agree with it.

I've been advised that you only need the tip-top Castrol stuff if you are following variable servicing. If not, any quality synthetic will do.
