Help with S3 needed
I just got myself a 1999 audi S3 and i wondered what lowering springs people recommend, looking to lower it about 40mm.
also it has 120000 miles FSH and just wanted to no what i need to change or look for engine wise. Ive got a load of paper work and nothing shows cambelt or waterpump change, i presume that it has been done but does it need doing again !
I'd change the belt, water pump and tensioners for piece of mind if you have no evidence of it being done. Speaking from recent experience it's not very pretty when the belt goes, nobody wins in the piston vs valve headbutting competition.
If it's full Audi service then it more than likely will have been but I don't think they do the water pump and vibration damper.
Lowering depends on your budget. I wouldn't just do springs as with that sort of age and mileage the standard shocks probably aren't up to much anymore. Bilsteins seem to be popular or there are many coilover kit's about.
