I need some help, trying to refit my alternator. I can't get the tensioner into place. Its just too strong to move by hand. Is it broken or some sort of technique too it? edit: 1.8t agu.
There is a hole on the side which when pulled with a spanner towards the front of the car will line up with the hole on the bit that is fixed. As mentioned before it's a doddle to do, there is a square shaped lug that sticks up.
