Need to change my turbo on my S3, Question is... Do i need to remove the head and turbo/manifold or can i just remove and refit the turbo?

Keeping the car for a bit yet so dont mind spending the reddies on doing it the correct way...

Having looked at the turbo when i removed the gearbox i know its tight under there, Is there any bolts/nuts that will cause me any problems? I plan to buy a new turbo and get fitted in a day as the car is used as a daily.

Cheers

There was a thread a few weeks back discussing this and some chose to remove the head and some just the turbo. Removing the head is meant to be easier but more expensive as you have to get a new HG, timing belt kit and head bolt.

I only replaced my belt last year and H/G was done at 85k buy audi so if i can help it i want to just remove the turbo, If people have done just the turbo i guess that is the answer i was looking for.

i have changed the turbo both ways and will never do it without removing the head again. its just a ball-ache
