I had 18" wheels fitted to my A3 yesterday and now when i put my foot down at 3000rpm the car revs a little then the power kicks in. Before it was just straight power.
What is causing this and is it anything to be worried about?
Apart from the wheels the car is completely standard.

sounds like clutch to me too. could be wheels have much larger overall diameter so slower acceleration

Really? I'm not very mechanically minded but i would never have thought this would be a clutch problem.
Why is it only doing it after i plant my foot?

Because it is slipping with the weight of the car until it gets the friction back, bigger wheels may have started the process but it sounds like a new one will be required

As i'm planning on getting a remap i suppose replacing it with a performance clutch would be ideal.
Anyone got any links to were i can get one?
