1st post of the new year happy new year all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

what should i be using to lubricate door hinges etc, no problems yet
just wanting to check, i do remember after my 1st AVS i got the car back
with some blue liquid stuff i assume this was the oil/grease
however after the 2nd avs there was none of this and can still see the last
18months dirt there no new lubricant

so what should i be using and should this have been done on the service
that cost me a small fortune weeks before xmas that i could just afford

cheers Jpd

Without looking at the servicing instructions (too lazy to start up laptop at moment) it's hard to say what the book says, but really any sort of lube will do the trick. A lithium based grease will be no good as it has poor performance when wet where as a Molybedeinum (Spelling??) sulfate grease would be ideal...so anything based on this will do the job.

It really isnt an essential though and I would be too worried, as bear in mind you will need to remove the pins in order to get correct lubrication otherwise WD40 will do the trick.
