Question best company to get remaped

im currently looking at getting my car remapped i have had a good look through all the threads and some people mention spikey maps causing damage to the bottom end.

where would people suggest to get a stage 1 remap

    i have a 1.8t quattro 51plate with k03s turbo.

upto now my mind is set with revo or chipwizards people any other places they would recomend better i have heard of jabba but not seen alot from them.

To be honest thats the only bad case with R-tech i`ve heard about and whats to say their map killed the turbo? Might have been on its last legs anyway and the map finished it off which in that case any map from any company would have done the same.

R-tech do good work on k03s turbos - Prawns hit good solid BAM power (if not more I can't remember exactly) with an r-tech map, FMIC, jetex cone & a decat IIRC

I went for CC due to the LACK of torque spike, only to find I have a big one. And a big torque spike ; )
Probably a knackered N75 though, maybe not the map itself.

Basically, R-Tech sound good if you're near enough to them...

Edit: But to answer your question, if I was going to remap a company it would be Birdseye. Think how quickly they could bring me my super-frozen fishfingers!

I have used Jabbasport a few years ago on a Leon Cupra 1.8t, and was very impressed with the result and the service they gave me.
Never had an issue with the car after. That was a custom remap done on the rolling road.

I Revo'd my Mk5 TDI killed turbo after about 3 months of abuse.
As far as i'm aware my cars had revo on it for about 3 years and its been fine.
i have had to change the turbo last year but that was due to oil starvation...

I'm sure Wayne is a Revo dealer himself Paul, could go and have a chat with him. A Chip Wizard map done by Wayne is best once you've done everything to your car. Wayne will get the best out of it in it's current state. Top guy and he's knows his stuff!

I went for Custom Code as it is meant to deliver power similiarly to stock. Some of the other maps are meant to be more aggressive. I reckoned a less aggressive map would be safer. Happy with my choice as I'm not really interested in standing starts, prefer to have the power from 30mph upwards, and especially from 70mph upwards for overtaking.

    Remap...???? DONE!!!!!
    Hiya,
I think you miss read the post m8, the member who posted about the blown turbo and uploaded the pictures did not have is car tuned at R-Tech, he had his car tuned up the NE by a tuner local to him(check his older posts). The r-tech customers in the above link are all happy and as far as I know still going strong with huge grins on there faces along withh 99.999% of all of our cutomers.

To save getting issues we give the a visual full health test, smoke test, VCDS, and dyno logging pre remap, then post remap we will carry out dyno datalogging to make sure all is safe with the car as a whole, and if we see room for improvement we will custom adjust the map unique to every customers car. As far as I know we are to only Uk company to offer this level of service with every remap.

Get it right every time and the feedback will speak for its self.

I am looking to pop out to you guys sometime soon, simply off recommendation and reputation.

Realistic peak power on a healthy engine is around 200-210bhp 210-225lbft, its not all about peak numbers its all about the area under the curve ie average power, All of our maps are based around the area under the curve, which mean our map could peak at 200bhp and another tuners car at 230bhp but out car may well still be much quicker.

It takes around 2 mins for any tuner to write a map to an ecu, the bulk of the mapping time is based on diagnositcs, datalogging VCDS, Innovate and number crunching.

Plus is you want a one off unique map which no other tuner can offer then we can add to the mapping.
Launch Control with progressive ramp rates
Flat shift based on clutch pedal switch.
    Rapid Cut RPM Limiters
Option to left foot brake without throttle cut (ideal for track days)
Direct-Drive-By-Wire throttle control mapping (making the DBW torque based mapping act and feel more like a throttle cable car, to offer more driver feedback, more fine control, less part throttle surge and WOT at 100% pedal postion not the ecu taking over and giving WOT at 50-70%)

And for track days or sprint car Anit lag comming soon...

Custom dyno mapping session on my sprint car, with all of the above and working on fine tuning the anit lag.

YouTube - R-Tech 1.8T fully throttle WOT gear change anti turbo lag mapping

2wd launch control (not wot box) YouTube - Bosch me7.5 mk4 golf 1.8t AUM R-Tech Performance Launch Control

rapid cut limiters YouTube - Golf 4 motion with 1.8T k04 hybrid turbo 300bhp launch to 7327rpm then spits flames

rtech epic fail >> YouTube - EPIC LAUNCH FAIL, Forgot to take ASR off..lol

For me tuning is fun not a job.

    Nick

    these figures seem realistic.

now the rest you listed under that i understand half of that, i basically want my a3 to have the power or more of an s3 dont want big touque spikes so it will end up killing the bottom end as it is at the mo its a bit slow of the mark but as soon as it hits 3k its good just need some more low end power and would like a more boost from the turbo as it feels like its got aspma at times no real kick.

have drove a 600bhp 911 gt3 and i dont want it like that basically full on launch every time you press the peddle.

a custom map would be great as i can have the car power to suit my needs it hard to describe, needs more power of the line and would love more mid range power, i keep basing it on a s3 its because i have had a dabble in 1 and fell in love with it yet vxr power feels better but they just torque steer to death so quicker or same as an s3 basically a vxr killer if that helps lol.

could you please issue me with a price for this just so got an idea how much will need and also will i need to have my full turbo back exhaust and 4 bar regulator before you could do the map or can these be added on later or would it help getting the car mapped to my spec.

what ur asking paul is fairly standard for their maps. They are aggressive like the revo with its 3-5k spike in torque. smooth constant power throughout.

exhaust will help but ideally matched with a TIP and decent filter.

regulator wont be needed until you mod further and require more fuel.

regulator wont be needed until you mod further and require more fuel.

ive seen this TIP alot but when looked at the part carnt find it on my car i know my turbo is at the bottom of the engine so could be why i can not see it only pipes i can see going to the turbo are stainless steel pipes would these not be better as they are stainless steel and the forge one is silicone. would it not feed denser air to the turbo due to it beeing metal i can understand it would get more heat due it beeing metal but wouldnt the silicone pipe.

i currently have a HKS mushroom filter with 2 cold air feeds directly to the filter and also the cold feed in the wing dont fancy a carbonio filter as they like to suck up water my friend has one on his r32 and is constantly dodging puddles

You must have a custom tip of some description then, so that's something done and out the way.
