99 1.6 A3 8l - Probs

Have an a3 1.6, feels really sluggish and lags to pick up speed, everytime i change to gear 2 then to 3 with full all the way down it struggles then feels like its kicking in....well as much as a 1.6 can lol

Also any ideas on ways to make it slightly more quicker and responsive?
any ideas or suggestions on any induction systems?
