small cracks on head

so Ive removed the head off the s3 to replace the turbo and on inspection I've noticed a couple of cracks between some of the valve seats and I'm wondering if the head is usable or should I be getting a new head?

Hi Mike- you can get some new valve seats inserted. Take the head to a cylinder head machinist and get them to look it over and give you a quote. Worth taking it to someone around your area that deals with cylinder heads as if it is just a few valve seats then it shouldn't cost much.

Since the head is off, might aswell get it pressure tested before you put it back on

andy it's not the valve seats it the material between them.

pressure test would rule out any leaks or you could get a large port instead

AMK or APY?

If it's an AMK then I would get it chk'd

Just to add, if it's an APY not saying you don't need to get it chk'd, I'd just be more worried if it's an AMK.
