Couple of weeks ago, and probably my favourite...
WRX UK300 Subaru Impreza. Nobbed it. 0 - 140+ (kmph.....Cough)
He wasn't best pleased - was revving it at the lights as well. lol
He wouldn't come past afterwards for me to laugh at him

blue pug 206 gti, loud exhaust, white motorsport alloys, driving on a duel carriageway with several roundabouts, behind him off the first roundabout where the duel carriagway starts , had to ease of to stop myself going into the back, next roundabout there was no one infront so he moved over but still gave it everything came along side him and soon just pulled away, and then the 4 wheel drive came into play at the final roundabout, grip grip grip This is attually the only race i've ever had in the S3 in the 4 and half years of owning it and this happened last week.

I dont think its quite like a chav style my car is faster than yours on here, you'll always get the odd S3 vs thread from time to time theres no harm in it, and most people on here are realistic about there cars performance too. There's a fair few people running a lot more power than standard and hearing what there performance is like against similar power motors is interesting to imo.

S3/A3 races you say? Amazingly, the only thing that's ever really tried to race me, is lads in S3's.
Obviously they see a modified A3, decide to try and show who's boss in their S3, then end up looking stupid.

was minding my own business on a 50mph duel carraige way and this merc pulled up behind me C55 AMG Kompressor so i waited for it to open up into a 3 lane motorway so i moved into the middle lane let him get next to me then floored it
this guy was not playing about i pulled about 3-4 car lengths infront of him up to 155 then hes limiter kicked in i must have hit 165-170 (off the clock) cos i left him for dust
got to the m25 jct stopped at the lights he pulled up next to me with his window down " Jesus what have you done to your engine mate"
he said the merc was hes dads and it was remapped to 410bhp! and said to his missus before we started racing look at this boy racer lets teach him a lesson LOL
anyway we ended up exchanging numbers and are good mates now he races hes MK1 escort at pod running 11's

Astra vxr now ppl might be thinking not bad not bad how about in the ******* down rain omg i could not stop lmao at him trying to get of the mark if only i had recorded it. the astra just keeps spinning and he don't lern that the more power he tries put down the less it gonna do

got beat by a chavd up saxo vts.... nearly cried but the guy said he had it running at 168bhp so i was spared embarresment from the three up chav mobeal... i thought ahhh what a prat reving your engine in your 1.2... have some of this.... but sadley it was me that looked a prat getting beat by a car with an ironing board hanging off the boot.
not to mention a focus rs that i thought come on you plum in your flash ford lets see what you got, and yup they got plenty more than my 1.8t...!

got to be honest m8 i used to have a 106 gti with cams lighted fly skimmed head bored out was running around same they are not to be sniffed at up to 60 they were quick as hell but after that seem to die quickly had a race against a s3 when had my gti left it off the mark got to the slip road on the motor way the s3 was clossing in soon as i hit 100 good bye s3 left me for dead

had a mess around with a skyline from traffic lights 2 month ago the old one what ever there called...
there was 2 lanes going into one i pulled into the wrong lane beside him he looked at me and smiled at me thought im getting my **** kicked here
anyway light changed i lornshed it got in front for about 300 yards then he starded gaining i was in wrong lane and car in front so had to brake
and he went passed then pulled in behind him.
come to a roundabout and he said what ya got in that i replyed v-power lol then put in to fill up with more
could not belive i had him at all thought id be left for dust or well i wasent.
i just race anything for the funnies and to see what it can do all i had was intercooler, 20psi, air filter, dv, crap map, and a big boost leak.
id race a lambo for the funny if got chance.

These threads make me smile and I've had my fair share of private duels but two occasions that stick in my mind are:
1. The time I let an RX8 overtake me. You know the type, inch away from your bumper at legal limits... Think he wanted to show off his snap-crackle-pop-of-a-flame thrower exhaust. I was getting bored and annoyed so I let him pass eventually and eased off. Further on I noticed same car pulled up on the hard shoulder smoke everywhere with a sorry looking driver, gave him a toot as I drove past him
2. A Fiat Coupe Turbo pulled up next to me at the lights on a rainy night, this car sounded like a beast and I thought to myself no contest in the wet mate... lights went green and I pulled off in to the distance. You should have seen the way the car was screeching and spinning about all over the place trying to get the power down, he eventually caught up at the next set of lights and I said to him what happened there then? what's under the hood?, 400bhp was his response but you've got a Quattro...

had a play with a P1 scooby spitting flames out the back he couldnt shake me off so he pulled along side me asked me what i was running hes was pushing 390bhp
also a focus st with a nurburg sticker on the back he pulled aside me after leaving his at the lights and complimented me on the sound of turbo on take off

Never mind, Focus RS is a definate no no, ST's however are fair game.
...I should have some interesting results to add to this thread once we get round to arranging it. a couple of friend's with a Mk5 Golf GTI (AMD remap) and a standard Focus ST will be carrying out some tests...

had a ferrari f430 spider infront of me at the light on the way to the revenge cruise pt 2 (loser had rented it for the night)
he pulled off the lights and i could see the passenger keep looking back saying hes still behind us and then a few seconds later HES STILL behind us
im just glad i didnt see him on the motorway on the way home otherwise this story would have ended alot different. lol

not in my a3 (that wouldn't beat toffee! its so slow or just wheel spins! except 17 year olds in saxos and stuff) but my rocco with 2 litre bottom end, cams, stage 2 big valve head, ported everything running bike carbs eats m3's never fails to suprise them.

Beat a couple of Impreza Turbos off the line and up to the legal limit in my dad's 1967 MGB (with 4.0 V8 engine from 2001 Range Rover, heavily breathed on)!
They didn't like that very much.
Got the most pleasure from beating the Escort GTi of a guy I used to work with in my MG Midget (before mods!) That was a long race, about 8 miles - I got ahead at the first roundabout and stayed there all the way home (he lived just up the road from me).
The S3 surprises a few folk too. Usually BMW 335s who go in the wrong lane to try and jump a queue of traffic. Literally put them in their place (behind me).
Mk5 GTis are fun too.

smashed so many E46 M3's the best one was between two traffic lights probably about 1/4mile apart
behind one at a set of lights he floored it hard

My ventures haven't been as thrilling as some on here i have to admit but keep finding ppl in Ford Fiesta's and VW Polo's up my **** on the drive to work lets just say they don't stay there for long.
Best bits of fun though were against a 335i coming off a roundabout onto motorway slip road, pretty dry day and he looked very surprised as I disappeared up the slip and away down the motorway and the other was aforementioned Polo sitting on my back bumper down a dual carriageway till we hit a contraflow and i just planted the right foot. He didn't follow
