A3 cambelt.

Can anybody help me by telling me when my cambelt is due for renewal. Is it every 5 years or 80,000miles or every 4 years or 70,000miles. Mines a 1999 and it's done 70,027 miles. I'm getting my water pump done at the same time.

Get it done my S3 has just hit the valves when the cam belt jumped a tooth or two.

ouch, that dont sound good. Ive only had mine 9 months so may ring the garage and see if it was done..

Get it done asap, im sure the VAG group changed it to 50-60k, for the cost of the job it makes sense to do it rather than have the trouble if it does go.

Yep, general consensus to be on the safe side is 40 - 50k or 4 - 5 years.

Thanks for all your help. If the garage I got it from didn't do it I'll get it done in the next few months. I do less than 300miles a month so it should be ok till end feb behind of march.

Thanks for all your help. I managed to get hold of the garage I brought my a3 from and they reilled off a list of jobs they did before I pic her up. In total it was £1200 bill including my cambelt waterpump and aux belt that was at 63000miles so all should be well.
