Removing throttle body - strange jubilee clip?

I tried to remove the throttle body on my T-plate A3 1.6 today... managed with the two upper bolts fine (bit fiddly, but managed OK), but then struggled with the jubilee clip. I expected it to be the usual silver type, but it's black and doesn't appear to have any way to remove it?

Sorry I'm being a bit vague, by the time I thought about asking on here, it was too dark to take a picture.

Its a single use clip.

You need to break it off and fit a new one (or replace it with a standard jubilee clip)

as above dude. trade part specialists can supply you with the original one use only one again if you want, but i'd go for a standard jubilee tbh.
