changinf heater matrix... how?!

Hi, I'm sorry to ask a question that is for an audi 80, but this forum seems to get the most visits.
I have an M reg audi 80 tdi and I need to change the heater matrix. I started this morning, and it is now 3pm and I have not got very far! (and I have lost my temper too many times...)
Does anyone konw how to do it?
I have removed the glove box and tray thing and heater motor, and the pollen filter etc, also there is a couple of screws on the bulkhead holding some sort of bracket that holds the back of the whole heater assembly. It is now all loose, but it looks like I have to remove the darn dashboard, is this right?
Pleeeeease if anyone can help or point me in the right direction I'd really appriciate it as I need to get this done as soon as possible.

doh, I've just finished sorting some stuff on an H-plate and had the haynes manual sitting about. They can be a ****** to remove, I've done a MK2 golf once and my A3 is now in bits as I'm half way though fitting aircon. Sorry I cant help.
