2 quick questions regarding a '96 1.6 (non-SE)

1) Is there more than one shade of metallic black that the 8L was available in? What are the names of the different blacks?

2) The 1.6 (non-SE) A3 comes with a radio/cassette player. Can I fit a cd tuner/headunit using a DIN adaptor? If so where can I buy tailored DIN adaptor plates? Is it just a case of removing the radio/cassette player and inserting the DIN adaptor then installing the headunit?

Or will I have to buy one of those 'double DIN' tuners?

Just found that beast. Would this just mean a case of swapping the old radio/cassette unit and slotting this double-DIN into the old cage?

You can get single DIN head unit adaptors. I had a sony CD unit to replace my crap concert in my old a3 1.6 sport. Mine was a 99 though, but before the facelift. So you shouldn't have any problems. Halfords do a facia adaptor and an iso lead converter for about £30 all in.
