Hi
I've read in quite a few places that the S3 210bhp version and 225bhp version are identical and its only a quoted difference. A marketing ploy for when TT225 came out - ie they didn't want to upstage their new TT with the S3.

However while looking for a "chipper" up north i was pointed in the direction of http://www.starperformance.co.uk/ (cheers khufu)
On their website the have two different chipping options depending on whether its a 210 or 225
the 210 gets 250bhp/275lbft
the 225 gets 260bhp/275lbft
I do note that there is no graph for the 225.

But this would lead me to believe there IS a difference.

I realise its not much of a difference. And i'm not bothered in terms of on road performance.

Its just the geek in me that wants to know as much as i can do about my car!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cheers

Ian

I wan't to know what the difference between the 210 and 225bhp are also? Is it just mapping or is there any internal differences, like with 150 and 180bhp A3's?

i thought the 225bhp had VVT (variable valve timing) and smaller valves ? i could be completely wrong !

you wouldn't want to be pushing 300 + bhp with standard parts in my opinion, not if you want the engine to last that is... you wont get more than 280 ish with the standard turbo anyway

I'm not sure if there is a difference, but if you search the web for Audi S3 0-62mph figures you will find that the 210 version is quoted at 6.8secs and the 225 version at 6.6secs.
