S3 Strut Brace??

Hi guys i havnt got a strut brace on my 1999 S3 are they spose to have one as ive seen loads with them on that look like there standard is it just TT one?

Think they came on the facelift S3's as mine has one - its a 51 plater.
Not sure the improvement they offer - probably nothing to be too bothered about!

Mines pre facelift 2000 and it has one,
My mates is a 99 and his has one too

True. I have had one with and one without... didnt notice the difference driving on the roads.

My old 2000 pre-facelift had one, so does my 2001 facelift. One of my mates 'borrowed' the one off my old car when it got written off and put it on his Mk4 Golf GTi, said he couldn't notice any difference in the handling though.

If i remember correctly, the pre-facelift s3's had the strut braces as optional extra's, facelift s3's had them as standard.

They was standard on late 99 cars onwards with the facelift interior lights and digital dash clocks. If you have an early 99 APY S3 with analogue clock in the dash, then no strut brace.
