speaker query

So i have an aftermarket stereo with half amplified system (what guy in halfords told me). the rear speakers are far louder than the front. can i fix this as the amplifier gets its sound from the front speakers from the head unit only. does that make sense?

basically i can't fade the speakers from the headunit. can it be done through the amplifier?

so im guessing the fronts are still powered of the head unit or is it the other way round. if its the front of the head unit then turn down the gain on the amp if its the fronts that are powered by the amp then turn the gain up a little
