16" wheels on an S3 ?

Does anyone know for sure if 16" wheels will fit on an S3 ?

Need to fit winter tyres for a few weeks abroad and 16" will give me a lot more options

Yes they will, you just wheels with the correct offset(around ET35 +/- 5mm) and the spokes need to clear the brake calipers.(alloys with a dish is most likely not going to fit).

Leon 16" steels fit fine on an S3!

These should be fine, there's a member on here with a stealth black S3 from the US running bandied 16" steelies.

Lower the offset, the more the wheels go outwards. But with a narrower wheel like a Beetle steelie, I doubt it would get close to your wheelarch lips without wide rubber.

Of course!
On winter tires I assemble Alutec 7x16. Among the other with 205 on the snow the car is much more fun and domabile as the tire is closer. Practically a toy.
