Front Armrest

Will the Front Armrest from a 2001 mk iv Golf fit in a 1999 A3.
We are selling our old Golf at work so I was just wondering as I will get it for free.

As far as I am aware the MK4 item does not fit the A3.

Wasn't there a forum member offering A3 amrests a while back? Did this happen or did it fail to come about?
