How to change rear screen with S3 spoiler fitted

Anyone got any ideas ?

G/frnds car (my old A3) now has broken rear screen.

Autoglass came out but claimed could not fit new rear screen as S3 spoiler is fitted.
I wasnt there when they came out.

The spoiler will not come off without ruining the paint - it has been mastic'd on and is going nowhere.

Any advice much appreciated.

I think you have probably got the best advise already and it needs to be removed, you want them to fit it properly dont you?
Wont it heat up and carefully taken off?

what happens on S3 when this happens ? I know its bolted but there has to be glue on it also ?

They guy who came to change it had not done it on any S3's before.. I really am reluctant to take it off as wont go back the same - assuming I can get it off.
