Just to share,
Thismorning went out to warm my car... get some of the ice thawing.
15mins later it was still covered.

Upon closer inspection i had no air coming from any of the vents - even though the climate panel showed the fan to be on full.

Stripped the glovebox out to access the motor.
Still has permanant live and a variable earth so i have decided the motor is dead.

TPS = £130
GSF = £45

new ones on its way now, shall be fitted when gsf deliver.

Any idea what caused it to give up?. there was no moisture in the airbox, so doubt it froze.

cheers
Callum

The B5s suffer from the bushes in the fan wearing out.
Could be the same thing on yours.
have you checked the bushes?

New bushes are only about £5 from ebay and a easy fix.

Bushes or brushes?.
Would that just happen overnight though, or would it get slower etc?

I 100% needed a new one, as it fell off my workbench after i removed it.
Still intrested in finding the cause though.

Brushes even. lol thanks.

Mine died over night.
Its long process for them to get to the point of dieing.
but the death can be sudden or it can spend some time not turning on or running as fast as it should.

I got some pics of mine, i'll post them up when i get home.

Aye, not too bad to replace... Just fitted mine now.

Be ware - the one from GSF (veetech) was wired the wrong way round, so instead of a blower i had a hoover.

Had to swap the pin outs round and jobs a good-un.

In and out/ reset the airbag light all within 30mins.

nice one, been absolutely freezing my jacobs off on the drive to and from work lol!
