Engine breathers / air filter???

Hi quick question when fitting a cone filter on a s3 what do you guys do with the breather pipe that originally connected to the base of the air filter box??? wouldnt you get engine fumes if you just pop a mini filter on it ?

just done some more reading up and im sure its the secondary air injection supply could this be rite mines a 99 APY if so its an induction pipe not a vent???

its not a breather filter it will be its the SAI as you said.. SAI runs on cold start to blow air via its fan down the exhaust ports to help keep cold start emissions down.. heat cat up faster
still add a filter but its not a biggie. 25 neck filter will just about fit into the old corrugated pipe end which came off the airbox

Thanks bill just fitted a little filter on the pipe and popped a jetex cone air filter on after making up a bracket to support it all
