can somebody please tell me the difference between an audi a3 1.8 t quattro and an audi a3 1.8 t quattro sport? are they the same thing or does the sport have extras?

Theres only a quattro sport..
1.8t quattro is 180bhp and the 1.8T Sport is 150bhp, S3 is 210/225 bhp. Difference comes from what James said above, different map, turbo, two intercoolers etc etc.

Doesn't the S3 lump use a different compression ratio too?

Have a word with Rich ( RichA3Turbo), although he'll prolly be along in a sec to tell you. On his car though I think he had to a certain amount of the fabrication of pipes etc himself.
