Steering Assist in VAGCOM

Anyone ever try adjusting steering assist in VAGCOM? Here's one guide:

Steering Assist
You can change how much input is needed on the wheel to turn it. It's set at 5 on the GLI.
Select 44 (Steering Assist)
--> 10 Adaptation
Read channel 1.
Lower numbers are harder steering, higher numbers are easier. Range is reported to be between 0 and 6.

I don't know. All the pages I've read seem to refer to newer models. Does anyone know if the same works on the 8L?

power steering one no as the 8L runs a belt driven pump so not adjustable, you can adjust certain things but not as many as newer models
