Tailgate release microswitch fix? Mine have stopped working...

Hi guys, both of the tailgate microswitches have stopped working on my '03 S3, I guess because of all the crap on the roads at this time of year getting into the mechanism. One stopped working last winter and this year hey presto the other one has also stopped working. So the only way to open the boot now is with the button on the key.

Not a major drama but my OCD mean that I want to get them working like new again. Anyone got a fix for this? Is it just a case of taking them apart & cleaning them out or is there more to it? Can I get to them from the outside or is it an interior access job?

yup replace matey, one of mine went recently, i did some testing by removing the back plastic panel and fiddling with the connections....i initially took them both out and removed the rubber cleaning them up fully but the mircoswitches are sealed and totally unserviceable

na sorry mate, check the stoke audi section as seem to rem asking for a price on there, around £15 each IIRC
