Has n e one got one of these ? r the insurance cheaper than petrol, jus thinking if insurance is cheap on a diesel, cud get 1, even if its done 100+ miles on it

This might not be reflected in the quotes you get, because as we all know sometimes the group of the vehicle isn't the main factor governing the premiums for it, but when I was looking at the facts about A3s just before I started shopping I checked the insurance groups...

Our 1.6 Sports are group 10, the base-spec diesels are 11 and the sport and SE spec ones are group 12, rising to 13 for the 130bhp version and 14 if it's a quattro.

The 1.9 diesel units are generally quite expensive to insure IMO, I was quote more for a Golf GT Tdi than a 1.8T before I bought the S3.
