my plan is to get it at a perfect stance :) well a nice one

the wheels im running atm are 225 et 35 18s. im thinking once the tyres have gone ill get slightly sreched ones

but i just want to know what can i do, how low can i go, what sort of spacing would be good?

cause each time i look fro something about an a3 it comes up with S3 and im not sure iff offsets and arches rae the same tbh :(

so could sumone help me :) and point me in the right direction
thanks rhys:yes:

yea i have just looked through that , but no ones listed how low they have gone, widths dimesnions etc and spacing :(

this is mine, 8x18 ET35 with 5mm rear spacers.

Lowered on Jamex coilovers, probably 55mm or so

thanks . nice cars btw

just need to see how much i can space my rears out now

Look at my sig.....

Let me know if you need bigger pics. Spacers - 20mm rear and 15mm front with nice camber on the rear ;)

your setup is fairly irrelavent troopa! if you read the first post, he's found loads of into about S3's, but nothinig about A3's!

I'm actually getting a set of 215's fitted to mine this weekend so I can space it out a bit more without rubbing :)

LOL oops. That's what happens when you start work at 7am and don't read things properly :)

hmm so its between 15mm and 20mm spacing :/

ive gt 1 20mm spacer lol but its fr a mk2 4x100 lol:/

Limbo out of interest what are the alloys you have dude

Hope that helps, also could someone do me a favour and measure their standard a3, floor to arch measurement and post them up so I can gauge how much i've lowered mine. Cheers!!

wow man, I love how low that is!

ust been out and measured mine, it's 62cm front, and 62.5cm on the rear, running ET35F and ET30R on 8j with 225/40's.

Having a set of 215/40's fitted next week, then going to space it out a tad more. Was thinking ET25 at the back, but given I'll have some stretch I think perhaps ET20 would be best.

How did you get the rears below 62.5mm mate? mine are wound down as low as they'll possibly go (with the adjusters in) and have covered 16k, so are well settled in! I'm tempted to take the adjusters out, but that'll drop it LOADS.

I'd love a set of summer and winter wheels, but not until I've finished spending on power!

...awaiting coilovers soon :p

sulaiman. lovin that 4th photo now thats low! i was tempted to go that far on the front with mine but im just not liking the idea of speed bumps at 1mph haha!

rob_sri, nice car how did you get the black so shinny?! looks sweeeet.

loooooads of polish and wax :D i want my car as low as sulaiman that looks mint!!! :D

Thanks, nice to know your measurements, I was looking at pics of yours trying to work out the difference in height compared to mine but its hard to judge in pics, especially when the wheels are spaced differently.

I think et20 should look good with 215/40/18, you may even get away with et15 but it depend how low you want to go and the look your after.

My rear springs are really short being H&R, at max height on the rear with 225/40's it was 64cm (last year), and on my summer setup they were set to the lowest setting with the adjuster still in place. I can't imagine how low mine will go without the adjuster.

I think you should be OK with the adjusters taken out the rear as the jom springs are longer than mine at the rear, also the 215's will create a fair bit of space in the arches to allow for more of a drop.

I am surprised you want to go lower though, aren't you worried about the handling? I know that is the general consensus when lowering car's but when I put my winter wheels back on I raised the front of mine to the top of the threads and if im honest I felt my car handled better at the height its at now.

Lol was quite impractical but nothing I'm not used to with my old car, but I can't be bothered to be that low all year round so have my fun running it on the limit during summer :)

its about 8mm difference deleting the adjusters

Having not had it lower than it is now I don't know how it'll effect the handling. Although it's interesting to hear you say it got worse when very low. I thought yours was a bit lower than mine. I need some more spacing to get the stance!

In an ideal world, I'm hoping that with the 215's fitted and it spaced out another 10mm all round I'll get the look I want without having to go lower. That would be ideal. As the lower you go the more you risk your sump!

Is that all it is dave? On my rear platforms, the adjuster collar is about 5mm thick, but the final 10mm of the platform isnt threaded so I was under the impression it'd drop more like 15mm!

ahh, right mine are threaded to the bottom, i have found that they will move about without the adjusters, if you jack the car up i can lift my springs about 10mm by hand....but ive carried on regardless....
