Shuddering on acceleration and engine management light.

Hi guys, my car hates me.
On my way home earlier tonight, it started shuddering really badly, particularly at lower revs and when accelerating. The engine management light came on as well and the car had a loss of power. I pulled over, but didn't really know what to look for so I nursed it home. (It's an AUM 2000 A3 1.8T by the way.)

I'm not really sure what to look for, but I was thinking along the lines of fuel filter or something. Unfortunately I don't have vagcom, so I can't scan it.

Does anyone have any ideas so I know what to look for tomorrow?

    Thanks for any help..

It will be the coil packs. With the engine running pull one out at time to see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't that the one that's burnt out.

Yeah, having had a proper look today one of my coil packs is down, thanks for the replies. I'll try and get to Euro Car Parts tomorrow and pick up a new one (or 4). Something like this should be fine, right? BERU Audi - Euro Car Parts UK

    Cheers.

Mate, dont go for the Euro ones, get the genuine ones from Audi, they are alot more reliable and probably cost the same as well
