The coil pack failed on my car on Friday and it was only running on 3,
It has now been replaced and is running fine but the engine warning light is still on,
Does it need to go to VW to be reset.
Thanks.

Also does anyone have the diagnostic cable to connect lap top to car. Or a kit SW and cable i can buy,

That makes the most alarming noise when that happens! It happened to me recently and I initially thought my engine was a goner.

Unfortunately my engine warning light never came on (!) so I cannot tell you the answer.

you could take off the power from the battery and leave it for 5 - 10 mins.

this will or should wipe the code

but your need to retach your windows, and enter radio code...

reteach windows is just hold and drive them down, then hold and drive them up and they will work one touch scroll up/down again

or get dealer to finish the job

or vagcom.. your need laptop/lead/software

Easier still, open the fuse panel on the drivers side dash (the bit where the door trim meets the dash, and pull out the ECU fuse for 5 minutes.

When you power up again, turn the ignition on and don't touch the throttle or start the engine for 60s, to allow the throttle to adjust...
