I have a creaking noise coming from the left front side, it sounds like a cv joint going but its not only when im moving. It will do it if im stationary turning the steering wheel. Also it feels very loose over that side, if i go over a bump it will turn my steering slightly. The other thing i have noticed is that the steering has slight play in it but only if i turn sharply left . Does anyone know where i should look first? Thanks. Lee.

i would look at the track rod end, get someone to rock your steering and feel the ball joint to see if there is play in it

Could be a spring. A mate with a TT had some nasty noises like that and it turned out that one of the front springs snapped.
