Hi All,

When i went to R-tech i was told i had cheap oil in my car and he said i should use quantum oil or another premium oil.

i just phoned TPS and they said it was £14.91 inc VAT that cant be true surely? i thought it would be like £40+

that was for 5 litres aswell!

it is 5w40 i need aint it?

oil filter was £5.49 which is about right but still shocked about the oil!

not kncking it just thought it would be way more expensive. bizarre ok cool ill just buy it then i guess

cheers :D

I bought Quantum for trade price. Was just over a tenner when I serviced mine the other week. When speaking to the chap at TPS and he said its just rebranded Castrol so it definately is top quality. Go for it bud.

I bought some 5l quantum platium 5w40 fully syn and a genuine oil filter from TPS few weeks back for £21 something.

The guy also said its just rebranded Castrol and used by Vag dealers so its quality stuff.

Yea its true, quantum is made by castrol for the vag group & is a good quality oil that happens to be cheap, happy days!

Yep, how did they know?

By the way Castrol Edge 5W 30 from National Tyres, oil change and filter for £31.50 if you book on line. ( A3 1.8 T )

im not sure how they knew :/ he just said i need to get some better oil in there as he reckons i had cheap oil. i phoned my garage n he asked the same thing. he laughed and said how would they know unless they had a laboratory on-site lol.

he said he gave me 5w40 revolution branded oil.

ill get the quantum to play it safe as its a cheap swap anyhow

den - thats a good price but i have a free labour voucher at another garage n i just pay for parts so ill use that until it runs out

cheers all

how is Valvoline and carlube compared to Quantum, are they all the same? Eurocarparts sell them both
