Just thought id pop in and say hi to everyone after a break from the Audi scene!

Just took a Noggy Blue S3 in part exchange and thought id visit the forum once again!!

Since my old black S3, ive had a BMW Z3M and a Jaguar S Type R... (very different and pretty special in there own ways) but me being me gets bored too easily and have ended back where i started!! lol.

Id like to apolagise to grathies also for asking about his car and never getting back to him!! So all the best with the sale of that mate!!! (i forgot you lived so far away) lol

So whats new? Anybody upgraded to a new S3 then? Any fancy new mods ive not come across yet?

I didnt know you'd sold!!! what were the thoughts on the BM and Jag then? both are absolutely insane (or supposed to be) aren't they?

Anyway, good to see ya back......we're being over run by southern fairies on here lately :)
 
Haha, good to hear from you Tim!! I actually got the S3 from Sheffield!! lol.

Ill get some pics up as soon as its up to my standard (full correction machine polish with my new rotary is needed) hehe! Gunna look like new!!!

The BMW was by far the best and most exciting car ive driven. It was so raw and simplistic yet so predictable and rewarding.... And the noise!!!!! What a noise!! Had the wadding removed from the exhaust and a Carbon Simota on it and sounded amazing! It just never seem to stop with its variable valve timing, over 5k it just stuck aload more power in and aload more noise :) . Its a good job i sold it when i did as ive been told by the new owner the boot welds have failed (common fault) and can cost a fair bit!

The Jag wasnt really any fun.. More of a cruiser. Straight line performance came with ease.. Got bored of the auto box and wanted more of a drivers car again!! 400bhp was quite addictive but had the fuel expense that went with it! lol. I was tempted to get some paramount performance (450 and 500bhp power upgrades) but opted out after i decided to advertise to sell it!

The noggy blue S3 is more of a put me on untill i find something awesome next year.. still tempted by a Z4M i liked the Z3M that much...
 
ive driven an Z4 Alpina a while back when they first came out mate, very nice..... didnt really push it but the sound was amazing.

incidently this noggy, it wasnt from south sheffield was it? young lad that bought it from Scotland? exhausts are black as they havent ever been washed with an S3 plate :)
 
Tim i know of the car you mentioned... the lad went up to scotland with 11k in his pocket and came back with the s3
He worked at aston hall hotel with a mate of mine .
He said the owner drove like a loon.
 
i wondered how i knew that, you must have mentioned him before doood, i used to follow him from work, would drive like a bit of a tit but never tried with me :)
 
No idea if it was south Sheffield! He was young, electrical engineer. And yes, the exhausts are black (for now...lol) and it has an s3 plate!!

There is one problem, the steering wheel sits off centre and tracks to the left which makes me think its possibly had an accident at some point in its life... Getting investigated tomorrow!

On the plus side, had it on the trusty vagcom and showing no faults. ALso put the alarm beep on it and the drive away locks etc... :)
 
good man!! it has to be the same car, there aren't that many nogs in Sheffield. he's only had it just over a year by my reckoning.

bet you wished you kept them lambo's ;)
 
is that not just tracking? or dodgey suspension if it pulls?

Thats the one doood, used to follow that all the time, soooo wanted to stop the kid and give him some Autosol!!! (altho prob not strong enough)

S3dave, thats not far at all! We should have our own little meet! lol. Wouldnt mind seenig yours, sounds a beast!

You say you have a switchable map? Is that a plug in and play effort or is it actually on the ecu? Im tempted to get mine mapped but would like to recoup costs when i sell it.. Is there any tuning boxes for the S3?

I'm loving the Britemax twins chrome set atm, beats the crap outta my autosol :)

get yaself down mate, i'm most likely going down in convoy with S3Paul from Sheffield, possibly meeting with jojo and friends near brum land - assuming the misus doesnt go, in which case ill be going night before and stopping in a local hotel - get ya name down on the list over in the events section

I would stay away from tuning boxes, mine is the APR Awesome - VAG Specialists built into the cruise control
 
Welcome back Scott, nice noggy you got there. You sprayed the inside of your headlights on your previous S3, I done mine recently and posted some pics on the pics section. Have a look if you want to see how a noggy S3 looks like with them done, I love them.

Just wondering how do you make the alarm beep when you lock the car via. I assume you used vag com so just wondering what did you do.

Nath! I will indeed take a look at your whip! I loved the black light inserts on my old car! Very good and pretty rare mod as i cant remember anyone else with it ;)

I actually didnt do it, a friend did but sort of no what he did. You can add numbers to a specific module to make it do different things. I think the alarm beep is 1024, so you add that and any other number to the original and it adds the features on the car.. Sounds complicated but really isnt... Im sure it would tell you on the rosstech site?
