Need to remove grille

I need to replace the front grille as its a bit manky and its missing the quattro badge. Ive got a new one ready to put on but I cant hep thinking I need to remove the bumper in order to get it out.

Is it possible to remove it without taking the bumper off? I dont mind breaking the existing one in order to remove it.

is that the same for the s3 grill? i want to take the chrome surround off.

you can take it off without removing the bumper but it's hard and you risk damaging both the old grill and the bumper ... the grill has plastic barbs that lock it inplace.... i made some thin plastic shims to push behind the barbs but it's stillnightmare.... you should be able to see the barbs and their positions on your new grill... poping the new one in will be easy..... that said though i've had the bumper off so many times now it's as easy just to take it off and do it properly
