Hello all, Gone back to the 1.8t after selling my old a3, Its in golf form (arz) now the seller has duped me because the maf plug was not connected just pushed on slightly, so i push it on the car stalls, reset ecu (battery off) start up, runs for 2 seconds, stalls, wont start... Remove, clean, same result.. But will run ok with maf unplugged although top end power seems non existent, boost spikes @ approx 10psi then settles to about 7... But after 3500rpm it feels flat, unlike my old agu which would pull till the redline.. Have researched but no case like mine... Help appreciated. Thanks alot. A.

airmass must be proper knackard to do that.

when you unplug it, the ecu recognises its open circuit and substitutes a "known" safe get you home value. a value well below what the airmass should read under full throttle/boost.

but plug it in, reguardless of what value its giving the ecu the ecu will read it as gospel, even if its proper knackard!
quite often with airmass faults the car will run better with it unplugged.
