Cambelt + Tensioner + Waterpump

Can someone tell me what is a resaonable price to get all these done together?
 
Mine was over 500 on the s3 at Audi stealers, I know that if you go to a specialist it can be had cheaper! It involves a lot of labour unfortunately :-(
One thing to watch... Make sure it's properly checked afterwards! I had massive brake failure after cambelt fitting as they hadn't put a brake line back which rubbed and eventually split. So make sure someone has a good look once it's done!

I had mine done at Midland VW they charged me £270 when I got my car....

Was going to ask actually, I had it done at about 55k, when would be best to have the next one done??

I can clock up a few miles you see...
 
im just about to have mine done, ive bought all the parts myself and getting a really good local garage to do it, parts cost me £106 for the timing belt kit, £35 for the water pump and £15 for the alternator belt, he is only charging me for 3 hours labour £90 total,

so you are looking at around £250 id say.

got all my parts from eurocarparts.

(ive bought all my car parts for all my cars there)

should be done every 60k im sure!!!
 
i paid £360 for timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and aux belt.. although the garage did mess it up so be carefull who you go to.. im sure amd does it for £350? could be wrong..
 
doesnt look like that includes a tensioner though
 
Yesterday I paid £450 for Cambelt, V Belt and Waterpump change at Nottingham Audi

Hadn't put the brake line back??? What where they doing moving or removing the brake line? they shouldn't need or even have to touch the brake line!!!

You should be looking at 3-4hrs labour, if they know what they are doing!

Also you need to account for the coolant being replaced. I would also change the V belt and cambelt pulley, they need to remove this to get the cambelt off so might as well do it at the same time.
 
mine cost £250 from my local vag specialist. supplied and fitted

the cambelt kit comes with the tensioners etc and costs £110 from my local parts place. water pump was abut £60 and then the rest was labour.

£60 for a water pump? Holy hell.
 
I got my water pump from TPS for around £30, there was a £25 refundable surcharge on the old water pump though, maybe that's why they charged £60 (to buy it outright?).
FWIW, my local independant charged me £180 labour to fit the timing belt and kit (tensioners etc), new waterpump, and fresh G12++ coolant (flushed old stuff). Not a bad price methinks.

Getting mine done in a couple of weeks, £350 from trusted local indy. Cambelt, Tensioners, Waterpump.
 
the only tricky part of doing this job is getting the engine mounting bracket out of the space by the side of the engine.
i can knock these off in about an hour and a half at work. i can do them at home too if needed?
ive done more cambelts on these engines in the last 10 years than i have hairs on my right arm!
 
Ditto that engine mount.... other than that it's pretty straight forward.... some dabs of paint on the old and new belts in conjunction with the pulleys just to be double sure all is back where it started and your sorted
