    Rear brake change

I will have to change the rear brakes I'm my 03 Audi sport soon and was just wondering if anyone can tell me how tricky it is?

I have done the front brakes on a couple of cars I have owned over the years, but never the rears, or an Audi!

    Any special tools required?

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks

You'll want to get a caliper rewind tool as won't be able to push the pistons back in otherwise. Can pick one up from halfords for about £20 I think.

    Tarox F2000 discs front - Tarox 401 Rallye+ pads
Tarox F2000 discs rear - Tarox 112 Strada pads
    Goodridge brake lines
    TT pedals
    N249 bypass

Finally back on the road, have a HUGE list of mods and things to do now!

    Rear brake change

That's great thanks for the reply.

So apart from that they will be as easy as front pads?

What sort of money is in a set of rear pads?

Done it a while ago but dont think its any different to the fronts. Need allen keys for the carrier bolts iirc but other than that yes its the same as fronts, other than the rewind tool.

As for pad prices I upgraded to tarox discs and pads all round so werent cheap but improved braking no end, havent had one issue of brake fade at all.
If going for standard pads and discs send PJMSPEEDY a pm on here, he's the man to see for oem parts.

    clockwise mate.

These cover the brake pads however if you are doing the discs as well you will need to remove the caliper carrier bracket, at least I did on my S3, not sure about the A3 but would imagine it would be the same.

I didn't bother disconnecting the handbrake cable either, there was enough play to just move the caliper out of the way.

also, if it is any use to you, I got my discs and pads here, the rears came c/w the new bolts for the caliper bolting onto the carrier.

    Hey Thorsy-

just about to do my back pads, is it possible to upgrade the pads first before the discs?

What did you fit from Tarox? And where did you get 'em from...?
