Hi, my car failed its MOT this morning and i need it back on the road asap.

The o/s front spring is fractured and tyre needs replacing. Plus the garage couldn't adjust the headlamps saying they tried but they kept either going all the way up or all the way down 'Prob down to their equipment i hope'.

Now where can i source a spring? I've been looking everywhere online and can only find lowering springs! Is it ok to just change just the one or should i do both? Also where would you recommend the cheapest/reliable place online to buy tyres?

Headlamps i guess ill go to a vw/audi specialist.

Thanks

Allan

Had my rears snap in the winter. Buy them in pairs and change them both! They will have coloured dots on so look at the springs first (may need a jet wash/hose to clean ***** off) so you know what to order. Main stealers or decent audi /vw suppliers will stock them! go genuine whatever you do cos if not you'll be doin it again next year!!

meh you can buy them seperately, wouldnt hurt to only change one, although the other one will probably follow fairly shortly. Somebody on here may have some fairly decent standard springs for sale, I have some but there not in a very good state. I just bought a set of eibach springs and lowered it slightly as the springs from audi cost £70 each.

etyre seem to be getting round alot for tyres, always see theere vans in my area.

I had one front spring go when i first bought the car. It only cost £80 by a garage. The second spring did follow about 10 months later though. If you can afford it change both for peace of mind

Headlamps are a common issue on an S3... the motors that adjust the headlight height loose their ability to adjust properly... there is a few threads on this here so have a search... essentially you can remove and 'clean' the internals of the motor that 'should' fix the issue or buy new motors at around the £50 each mark from a dealer.....

Great, so it’s gonna cost bucks! I just got back from 10 days in Ibiza and funds are not looking good :(

I’ve seen the tyre eagle f1's for £90 on mytyres.co.uk which seems reasonable, I’ve looked and the n/s tyre is fine, I guess the broken spring caused the o/s tyre to wear quicker.

I’ve been looking all over the web and still cannot source a pair of springs. Will try some breakers and stealers on Monday. Signed up to a few 'part finding sites' but prob won’t hear anything back till during week.

Headlamps, I’ll have a read up and maybe try cleaning the motors, last thing i want to do is spend more money.

Thanks for the info guys

Allan

I have 2 front springs you can have if you want to pick them up, just dropped my car so don't need them.
