Hi,
I took my S3 (2000 Reg) in today to have some new pads fitted. On the way the oil min light switched on. Speaking to the garage that fixed the brakes, he suggested that by the time the oil light comes on - my engine is knackered. I jokingly said "well I was thinking of changing my car next year" and he said, "yup I would if I were you - you have probably really done some damage."
Is he right? Have I knackered the engine by driving it until the orange oil min light came on? Surely that would render an orange "warnign level 2" light as pretty useless? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Just wanted soem reassurance???
Thanks for any advice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
