Air box cold feed

tbh mate I would have a go at getting either a 3" or 4" bit of ducting in there instead... the OEM nozzle is tiny... I did this on mine and makes quite a bit of difference... there is some info on my build thread (linky in sig)... I may still have the bit you want though, will have a rummage through my box o bits later today but doing the CAI ducting is worthwhile...

I've got mine laying around at home, you can have it if you want, personnely i wouldn't, it's small as hell, your better off leaving it our or like paul said trying to fit a 3/4" feed in.

i also have the standard pipe if you want, but as you can see most people get rid. i've got 3 and 1/2 inch pipe, cut the box to fit, i cut the hole in the wing also, and routed it down behind the intercooler and ending right next to it facing forward, there wer some cutting away of the body behind the bumper/wing tho to fit such a pipe, but i had to do this as i dont have much room with the standard smic's.
Thanks for the offer, at the minute my air box is getting very hot and the car only performs on cold days.

as i said mate i did it with standard intercoolers, dont let the SMIC's get in your way, a pipe will fit down there, just takes some chopping away, i managed it really neatly. if a knew how to post pics i would haha.

Remove the heat proofing out of the engine bay and cut the rubber strip down above the bulk head, helps with the heat.
I'll do that when the misses gets back from bingo with the car, all so just been up to the scrap yard and picked up a window switch, ho what fun.

i thought about doing that nathan, but then putting a cone in the airbox, the cone would have to be fairly small and wouldn't have as much surface area as a panel, so you'd probably be better off with an aftermarket panel.
Ye I did Dan before on my green cotton filter but got a Jetex now. The green cotton one was quite a bit smaller than the Jetex.
I see what you mean Karl. I might put the bottom part of the airbox on with the wing feed and try and get a 3/4" feed into the bottom of the box.

Do you mean the plastic engine/battery/expansion tank covers? or the fire proof stuff attached to the underneath of the bonett?? Im trying to help with the cooling on my motor..

i was originally considering putting a cone on, but i thought it would have to be fairly large to have any benefit over an aftermarket panel, plus i wasn't sure the great big sucking induction noise would be to my taste. A good idea would be to fit larger airbox than standard, with a large cone filter sealed inside, with the large induction pipe coming from the bumper through the wing.
