OEM high capacity oil filter.

Just serviced my S3 today & when getting the oil filter there was a choice of two, the other one being larger & taking an extra 0.4 ltr of oil putting the usual 4.6ltr fill up to 5ltr. Gave it a good long drain & whacked on the new filter with 5ltr of 5w 40 quantum platinum (fixed interval oil), with how bad the 1.8T can sludge up the extra oil capacity can only be a good thing.

damn right. if you think about it that 400ml is almost 10% more capacity

i cant see you going wrong with quantum platinum with a sensible service interval.

So is 10w/40 not the best oil. These engine's are listed for 10w/40 oil ?
