Had my car MOT'd today.
Passed.. Yay

Advised the NSR bearing has slight play....problem is, i only changed it in January.

Is it possible the hub nuts worked loose?. or will it just be a goosed bearing?.
Also, it took me around 2 1/2 hours to change it.. yet my local independant quoted me £35 + parts.
would you renew it yourself (if you are capable) or pay the £35?

Hi buddy, good news on the MOT bearing should not have gone that fast, I'd blame the fitter lol. £35 + parts seems a good deal to me and lots less hassel, if it took you 2.5 hrs last time then its got to be worth it for the lack of aggrovation and much more convenient. Unless I had access to a workshop etc there no way I'd do it myself, and as I say for £35 cant go wrong.

You know it could be the fitters fault!! lol

I cant remember torqing it, think i just blasted it with the airgun.

Is it supposed to be 200nm then turn 180degrees? (can someone confirm?)

Cheers

But.......it may just need torquing lol.
costing £0
If anyone knows the correct torque setting???

£35 plus parts is a bargain. Only one advisory is good though, mine came back with long list of complaints 2 days before I was due to drive out to the nurburgring. It was a mission

Update....
Hub nut was loose, I obviously didnt torque it... Did it today, and all play has gone.

Even ordered myself front and rear arb bushes, as i thought the car deserved a treat.
