Hi all

just trying to change back pads and disks.

having abit of problem with puttin the caliper back on once the new pads have been installed it seems like the piston on the caliper has rlly seized up!

i believe you can twist them with a pair of pliers, however ive tried pushing and its impossible...

any body with any ideass?

cheers

Tbh you need a caliper rewind tool for the backs mate.

ive had a look at those, but whats the difference between this and a G clamp?...ive tried to use one and bent it today (the g clamp)

Im sure the rewind tool holds the piston better so helps it back in.

sound lets hope it works!! like i said in the haynes it mentions a pair of grips or something however not sure its gnna work but i spose its worth a go!

pair of grips is a waste of time and makes a mess of the piston and seal, you need to twist and push at the same time, you will find allot of callipers will be very tight to wind back even with a wind back tool let alone g clamp and grips.

Do it right first time and invest in a cheap windback tool mate

What James said. ^^^ A pair of grips and a G-clamp tends to chew the piston up. You can buy a cheap wind back tool for less than £20 at your local factors, probably cheaper on fleabay.
