What pipe is this?

While taking my SMIC off the metel boost pipe that running between them. There was a metal pipe that ran from passenger side to 3/4 of the way across the car only to return back to a pipe below where it started

Can anoyone help? What pipe it is? Also can i just do a U bend right at the start off the pipe?

sounds like the power steering cooling loop possibly?

It is a cooling pipe so if you reduce the length it won't cool as efficiently.

By the way I'm pretty sure that the metal boost pipe you have removed (which the cooling pipe is attached to) is also for structural rigidity. A3s without twin intercoolers have a version without a 'pipe' so I wouldn't remove that unless replacing it with a non piped version from an A3.
