Audis consistant at Croft but Turkington Scores Double Victory.

BMW stole the show at a wet Croft with Colin Turkington scoring a double victory for Ebay Motors only narrowly missing out on a memorable treble when he finished behind the Honda Civic of Matt Neal in the last race.  Having snatched a last minute pole position Turkington drove a dominant the race with a lights to flag finish.

Rob Austin in the Wix Racing Audi matched his race number and came in 13th closely followed by team mate Bratt taking 15th place.

Race 2 saw the start of the rain and Plato and Tordoff opted to run wet tyres in the first race which with the light rain initially seemed to be paying off but as the track dried rapidly they fell victim to the BMW of Turkington who was ready to nip past but came under pressure from the Honda Civic of Gordon Shedden for a side by side finish across the line.  Tom Onslow-Cole drove a blinding race taking 3rd place podium after sadly just not being able to push past Shedden, so settling for a bit of a lonely but safe 3rd place.

Again the Audi’s were fairly consistent managing a 14th and 18th place respectively, but the weather was starting to turn, and treacherous conditions prevailed for race 3.

The heavy rain that had been threatening most of the day, descended on the track, driving conditions were difficult and many drivers where glad to see the end of the race! At least this time there was no tyre selection issues it was wets for everyone.

Nick Foster got a good getaway in the BMW 125i M Sport, and held the early running.  Turkington was quick in the opening laps, and an over opportunistic move with the Hondas of Jordan and Shedden caused the pair to touch at the exit of Tower.

Neal edged out Morgan at the same corner and Turkington nearly made a double pass,  scrambling past the Toyota of Morgan he just couldn’t get closer to the Honda of Neal , although Neal did have what he called ‘ two mighty moments’ on the last lap, but held the position to win  the race.

Race 3 saw the Audis make a concerted push in horrendous conditions, Austin improved and managed to come in 11th but the dreadful track conditions took its toll and out of the 9 cars which failed to finish, Austins team member Bratt was among them.
